Mohawk Nation Aligns with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society to Save Mother Earth!
We first met Captain Paul Watson in the fall of 2006 at the Sierra Club Of Canada Conference, "People for the Planet".
When I first seen him speaking to and along with other very important and accomplished people within the field of environmental protection and environmental sciences, he stood out above the rest;
Not only due to his physical presence (big man).
Not only due to the fact that he is a true “natural” environmental scientist (a man of action for our Mother Earth) and not an academia processed environmentalist whom can only work within and for systems of destruction in order for them to feel legitimized.
Not only because his words (based on his own self propelled experiences) were of the most powerful and meaningful that I have ever heard any of the new people speak.
The man, Captain Paul Watson stood out because we had seen in him that of a dying breed, the spirit of the ancient Turtle, we seen in him a man rising up out of the people to find his place within the ancient Turtle Clan (owners of the House), to find his true place upon our Mother Earth and to sit within the true council of all that is sacred.
After hearing his words in his presentation, my father and I asked if he could meet us outside on the land, to which he graciously accepted. Due to his popularity at this conference he was held up by gawkers for approximately twenty minutes, it was at this time where we able to talk to a long-time associate of his, Ryan Young (another amazing individual but that’s another story), who had informed us of the Lakota people’s observance of the Turtle spirit within Paul, during the American (the lost People) assault on the people of Wounded Knee in the early seventies.
When we finally were together, my father performed a ceremony of sharing and strengthening our power and bound us together under one mind. We had given Paul a medicine bag that I had received in a Mid-Winter Bowl Game (the balance) some five years earlier. However, since I am of the Wolf Clan I was not able to utilize the medicine bag and it had waited in my possession until it found its way where and with whom it belonged, it now rides upon the turtle’s back within the life-blood (oceans) of our Mother Earth binding our two Houses of the Sea Shepherd and the Mohawk Traditional Council together as one on sea and on land in defence of our Mother Earth.
I am personally strengthened by my experience with Captain Paul Watson, not because I met him (which was great in its-self) but because I know that he is out there, listening to the Great Council,,, and functioning as a True Being carrying out the Great Law of Peace (the Law of all Creation).
The world needs people like Captain Paul Watson. In the Mohawk language the reference of Chief actually translates into “He is Good”, within his house, Paul Watson is good and is leading his people on the good path. To Paul Watson and all the beautiful brave people of the Sea Shepherd House; for me, the people of the Mohawk Traditional Council, all of our Friends and all life its-self, stand vigilant to the death, persevere onwards for life and you will always have a home port here within the Mohawk Traditional Council.

PRESENTING SEA SHEPHERD & CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON WITH THE CONFEDERACY FLAG, SHIP REGISTRATIONS, AND TRADITIONAL CLOTHING
In 2007 we learned that Canada had canceled the Sea Shepherd ship registrations deeming them illegal pirate vessels. The Japanese were applying political pressure to countries that allowed the Sea Shepherd to make port. When we became aware of the situation it was immediately evident that we must aid Captain Paul Watson in his struggle to save our Mother Earth and offer him protection under the symbol of the Five Nations Confederacy.
On June 18, 2007 we presented Captain Paul Watson & the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society vessel registrations. We were proud to offer flags for the ships displaying the official symbol of the Five Nations Confederacy. This was done in ceremony to solidify that we are of one mind.
The women of the Longhouse presented Captain Watson with a hand-made ribbon shirt and vest which are traditional clothing worn by our people. This was done to show our gratitude for all that Paul does for the future generations. It was also passed through a Sacred Women's Moon Ceremony to act as a protection for Paul as he travels to defend our Mother Earth.

To this day the people of the Mohawk Traditional Council offer our greetings and thanks in ceremony for Captain Paul Watson, the volunteers and crew of the Sea Shepherd, and all True Beings on this path to save our Mother Earth. We are honoured to know that the official symbol of the Five Nations Confederacy is flying high on the Earth's Oceans, the life-blood of our Mother Earth.
